South Africa are ready to ramp up plans to join the Six Nations and could replace Italy in the tournament within four years, according to fresh reports.

The Springboks have committed to playing against New Zealand and Australia in the Rugby Championship until 2025, a move announced on Wednesday afternoon.

A reward of $13,500 (100,000 Rand) has been offered for “information leading to the recovery of Werner Kok’s Blitzbok jerseys,” after the South Africa was robbed earlier this week.Kok shared on social media today the campaign that has been set up, which is in association with Richmark Holdings and SA Rugby Legends association.

Sir Ian McGeechan has called for South Africa to join the Six Nations in a bid to raise the standards of the leading northern hemisphere sides.

In its current guise, the Six Nations comprises of teams solely from the northern hemisphere, with Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, France and Italy all competing.

The acceptance of the inclusion of the Fijian Drua as a franchise for one of the 12 teams in the revamped Super Rugby Pacific competition is a welcome gesture of established rugby unions New Zealand and Australia for Pacific Island nations Fiji and the Polynesians in the region.

The Moana Pacific and Fijian Drua are new inclusions in the Super Rugby Pacific 2022 season which has five franchises each from the Kiwis and Australia.

New Zealand has returned to the top of world rugby rankings today displacing Rugby World Cup champions South Africa since October, 2019.

With the results of the Rugby Championship dictating terms for the top three ranked teams, the Kiwis four straight wins and thanks to the Wallabies two straights wins against the Springboks, opened the door for neighbours, the All Blacks to sneak in.
